Love my FWD Skoda Superb estate.
Drives beautifully, has enough power to do what I need and want.
Looking forward to the next one.

Wow that new Superb looks sharp. It’s always been a handsome car but the new one is a real step up.

It is essentially a rebodied Passat, which shares a lot of bits with the Audi A6. The new Superb (at the bottom) shares engines, drivetrain and parts with both the Audi A6 and the VW Passat.

Ours is also FWD, a 2.0T with 6 speed manual. It’s very fun to drive, and surprisingly quick. We’ve got 115K miles on it now and it’s still a great car. I wish VW sold a new wagon in the US still.

The new Passat is only available in diesel form in the U.K. :(
The 2.0TSi Superb is auto only and we don’t get the 1.8 in the U.K., Europe only.

Was ordered for the 1st March but may be the 3rd or 4th now.
Got the mats coming from Czech, cheaper to get them from Superskoda (even when they didn’t have the discount) than at a U.K. Dealer.

I can imagine the prices are daft. I got heavy duty rubber mats for my car from aldi, carpet ones wouldve been trashed by now.

A set of textile mats and a rear tunnel mat would cost £58, while I got the same textile mats, rear tunnel mat and a pair of Skoda hand and bath towels for £52.87 posted.
Generally TMS are cheaper for VAG products and cheaper again if your a member of a VAG forum.

We could only get the 6 spd manual if we got the 2.0T and the cheapest model. This is a 2008. I don’t know what we’ll replace it with, there’s nothing on the market at this price point. For now I will just keep it together, it’s doing very well for it’s age.

W love the Superb because it’s £8,000 cheaper than the Audi A6 and around £3,000 cheaper than the VW Passat that has no petrol range. The Skoda has a larger range of engines.
The VW Golf is a good alternative to the Passat though a bit smaller (not really sure what the U.S. Has in a similar VAG range).

I’ve tried the Golf and Jetta and find the seats too small. The previous gen Passat really nailed it on a comfortable interior. The seats are fantastic on long drives. Our wagon has a large gas tank, I think it’s 18 gallons? Enough for over 500 miles on a highway trip.
